Norwich is a diverse community with those of different sexuality, nationality, education levels etc. As time goes on, the community becomes more diverse. What makes Norwich strong as a community is our diversity. Increasing diversity leads to increasing levels of education and knowledge which helps our town. We started as a Quaker community, but we are more than that now. We hold our Canadian values strong and have also become a melting pot of different cultures including Canadian, British, French, German, Polish, Dutch, Filipino, Latino, Chinese and many more. We are more than just the sum of our parts.
Diversity helps a community by fostering a greater understanding and acceptance of different perspectives, beliefs, and lifestyles. When a community is made up of people from various backgrounds, it creates a richer and more vibrant environment where people can learn from each other and celebrate their differences.
In terms of sexuality, diversity allows members of the LGBTQ+ community to feel accepted and supported, leading to an inclusive and respectful community where everyone can live authentically and without fear of discrimination.
When it comes to cultures, diversity allows for the sharing of different cultural traditions, languages, and customs. It encourages us as community to be more open and inclusive, embracing the unique contributions that people of different nationalities can bring.
Overall, diversity helps to build a more tolerant, talented and inclusive community where everyone feels valued and respected, leading to a more harmonious and connected society with a greater ability to tackle any problem.
We are Norwich, We are diverse, we are tolerant of those around us and wish to build a better community together.
